These Terms & Conditions (“Terms“) govern your use of the HG Cabs website (https://hgcabs.com.au) and any taxi or airport transfer booking made with HG Cabs we operating out of Melbourne, Victoria. By booking a ride, using our website, or contacting us for services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.
1. About Our Services
HG Cabs provides taxi and airport transfer services across Melbourne, including local trips, business and corporate transport, and one-off or scheduled bookings. Vehicles are offered as shown on our website (sedan, SUV, van), subject to availability at the time of booking.
Prices displayed on our website (e.g., “Starting at $45/day”) are indicative and may vary based on distance, vehicle type, time of day, demand, tolls, and other trip-specific factors. Your final fare will be confirmed at the time of booking or upon completion of your trip.
2. Making a Booking
- Bookings can be made through our online booking form, by phone, or in person.
- When booking, you must provide accurate details, including your name, contact number, pickup and drop-off locations, and requested date/time.
- A booking is only confirmed once you receive confirmation from us (by phone, SMS, or email). We are not liable for missed trips resulting from incomplete, incorrect, or unconfirmed booking details.
- We reserve the right to decline or cancel a booking at our discretion, including where a request cannot be safely or reasonably fulfilled.
3. Cancellations and Changes
- You may cancel or amend a booking by contacting us directly at admin@hgcabs.com.au or 0430 028 033.
- We ask that cancellations be made with as much notice as possible, particularly for airport transfers, to avoid inconvenience to our drivers and other customers.
- Late cancellations, no-shows, or failure to be present at the agreed pickup location and time may incur a cancellation or waiting fee.
- We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate changes to your booking but cannot guarantee availability for last-minute changes.
4. Payment
- Fares are payable at the time of the trip unless otherwise agreed, and may be paid by cash or card, subject to availability of payment methods in the vehicle.
- No hidden fees are charged beyond the agreed fare, applicable tolls, surcharges (e.g., public holiday or late-night rates), and any additional charges disclosed to you at time of booking (such as waiting time or extra stops).
- In the event of a payment dispute, please contact us promptly so we can resolve the matter fairly.
5. Passenger Conduct
To keep every trip safe and comfortable for passengers and drivers alike, passengers must:
- Treat drivers and vehicles with respect
- Not engage in abusive, threatening, or unsafe behaviour towards the driver or vehicle
- Not smoke, consume illegal substances, or bring hazardous items into the vehicle
- Wear a seatbelt at all times, as required by Victorian law
- Ensure any luggage or items brought into the vehicle are reasonable in size and quantity for the vehicle booked
We reserve the right to refuse or end a trip, without refund, if a passenger’s conduct compromises safety or breaches these Terms.
6. Luggage and Belongings
While our drivers take reasonable care with luggage and belongings, HG Cabs is not liable for loss, theft, or damage to personal property left in or transported within our vehicles. Please check the vehicle for your belongings before ending your trip. If an item is left behind, contact us as soon as possible and we will make reasonable efforts to help locate and return it, though we cannot guarantee recovery.
7. Delays and Circumstances Beyond Our Control
We aim to provide punctual, reliable service at all times. However, HG Cabs is not liable for delays or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Traffic conditions, road closures, or accidents
- Weather events
- Mechanical issues with a vehicle
- Government restrictions, public health orders, or emergencies
- Flight delays or changes (for airport transfers)
Where possible, we will notify you promptly of any expected delays and work with you to find a suitable solution.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law:
- HG Cabs will take all reasonable care in providing our services, and our drivers are appropriately licensed under Victorian transport regulations.
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our services (such as missed flights, meetings, or connections), except where such loss arises from our negligence.
- Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)), including guarantees relating to services being provided with due care and skill.
9. Website Use
- Content on our website (text, images, logos, and design) is owned by or licensed to HG Cabs and may not be copied, reproduced, or used without our prior written consent.
- You agree to use our website only for lawful purposes and not to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent booking or contact information.
